*-Even before Friday’s shaky start, White Sox RHP Jose Contreras was “on notice” from manager Ozzie Guillen, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. LHP Clayton Richard seemed to be Guillen’s first choice to replace Contreras Wednesday, with RHP D.J. Carrasco also a possibility.

**-Tigers LHP Dontrelle Willis is expected off the disabled list to start Wednesday. He has been making injury-rehab starts in the minors because of an anxiety disorder.

3*-Angels RHP Ervin Santana made a rehab start Saturday at Triple-A Salt Lake, which could put him in line to start for LA/Anaheim Friday. If he couldn’t pitch then, rookie RHP Anthony Ortega could stay in the rotation for the time being.

4*-Marinere RHP Carlos Silva was on shaky ground even before he went on the disabled list. Replacing him Monday will be LHP Jason Vargas.

*-RHP Hayden Penn is manager Fredi Gonzalez’s choice for Monday to come out of the Marlins’ bullpen to replace RHP Anibal Sanchez, who is expected to be on the disabled list until early July.

**-Florida LHP Andrew Miller is scheduled to come off the DL to start Saturday.

3*-With LHP Oliver Perez on the disabled list, LHP Jonathon Niese has moved into the Mets’ rotation.

4*-Looks like the Phillies picked a bad week to play a doubleheader. With no days off between Tuesday and Sunday, Philadelphia is likely to pick a sixth starter – even though one of their regular five, RHP Brett Myers is having difficulty both with his control and getting his fastball up to speed. The most likely in-house candidate to start Saturday’s second game is LHP J.A. Happ.
